Welcome to Sunday Showcase, where I highlight one of my favourite blogs, recommend a few of the posts I enjoyed reading this week and capture a moment that made me smile.
After taking a couple of weeks off to enjoy April vacation with the kids I’m back with some wonderful posts and finally, some signs of spring!
A blog I love…
Wild About Here is beautiful blog. I first discovered Kriss’ writing when she was based in the US, and her blog was called Over There to Here. It was lovely to read the adventures and thoughts of someone who was also living away from home, and making the most of her time while doing so, just like we were.
Kriss and her family have since moved back to the UK, and the blog has been rebranded to reflect that with a new name, but what drew me to Kriss’ blog in the first place hasn’t changed.
She takes the most amazing photographs, of her gorgeous twins and their outdoor adventures and of the natural world around her. Whenever I sit down to read her blog, I grab a cuppa and sit back, relax and get lost in her words and images.
If you haven’t already discovered Kriss’ blog here are a few suggestions to get you started! Some dreamy shots of spring , some fascinating facts about bluebells and some thoughts on fleeting moments.
A post I loved…
Blogging is a funny old game. Full of highs and lows. This post about the stuff nobody tells you about blogging, from the wonderful Renee over at Mummy Tries, really struck a chord.
Jenny over at Unremarkable Files is always a good read, and this post about the dilema of whether to give to people begging, or do something more practical instead, is a case in point.
One of my favourite bloggers, Suzanne from 3 Children and It, shared a brave, inspiring and hugely important post last week about her daughter. This is a must read.
A moment I loved…
It’s been a busy few weeks! Great fun, lots of laughs, but a bit of a whirlwind. With vacation, two business trips for my husband, sick kids, spring sports starting, the usual school projects and upcoming exams for the 9yo. Lots to do!
And with snow at the beginning of the month, lots of rain and temperatures that have continued to feel horribly wintery, it’s been tough to take a moment and breath at times. It’s been head down, get on with it.
But, this week there have been blue skies and blossom to make me look up. It’s felt like a long time coming, but definitely worth it.
So, there we have it. Week 7 of Sunday Showcase… I will be back next Sunday, sharing more great blogs with you!
