Reflections: Week 10

Looking back on my week it seems that I can either write about writing lists or the weather. My lists have lists at the moment, and the weather has been suitably New England crazy.

After some beautifully sunny days, with clear blue skies, it snowed again yesterday. More than the forecast had led me to expect in fact, a world turned white again. Today? It’s arctic out there!

After the early spring warmth of February vacation, it seems a little cruel of Mother Nature to take us back into winter.

As for the lists, well!

Life is super, crazy busy right now. Lots of school stuff, lots of swimming, lots of activities, birthdays and parties. My head is spinning most of the time. Without a good list I’d be dropping balls all over the place.

March into April is always a busy time for us with my younger two celebrating their birthdays, and preparations are already underway for them. And, it seems to be a busy time of year for birthdays full stop, with friends birthday parties to attend every weekend too!

Over the last few weeks, with all the crazy, I’ve actually found that the busier I’ve become, the more productive I’ve become. Out of necessity. But, that wouldn’t have happened without the lists (and the sub-lists and side-lists and lists-of-lists).

I’ve been wondering about Bullet Journaling for awhile now, trying to decide if it would just be a distraction or if it would help me focus and achieve more. I’m swaying towards the focusing and achieving more right now, so I’ve been pinning LOTS of ideas. Might be time to give it a go :)

Do any of you Bullet Journal? I’d love to hear what you think of it, if you do.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely week. Head over to my Instagram feed to see the rest of this week’s 365 photos…

  1. I’m never without a list or something to do, but i’ve been going off list recently and on the spur of the moment decided to fix the curtains around the house. I carry a notebook with me for blogging, ideas and recording where my photos are stored and for which blog post i want them for

I’ve always written lists, but they’ve often been a little random. I’ve been making the effort to plan and prioritize more and it’s working well!

  2. Gorgeous image! I’m not organised enough to do bullet point journals or rarely have the time these days – a quick scribbled list is my way to plan!

I’m finding being more detailed with my lists is making me more organised, so I feel that maybe I could take it a step further… but whether I have the time or not is another matter – but then perhaps the whole point is that I need to make time! Ha!

Yeah, I go back and forth on it to be fair… so many people swear by it though, and I do love a list, so I think I’ll give it a shot :)

  3. What a beautiful photo! Sorry to hear you’re back to winter now. It’s non-stop birthdays here too – my daughter’s and five other family members, plus all of my daughter’s friends seem to have birthdays in March, so it’s non-stop parties!

  4. Lovely photo. I am brilliant at writing lists, and equally brilliant at forgetting where they are exactly when I need them :/ I thought about bullet journaling once but then thought life’s too short to be that organised :)

Ha! I’m still swithering to be honest, I’d love to be super organised, but I’m not sure that there really are enough hours in the day ;)

  5. Oh the weather is really changing! We’ve been going from warm-ish beginning of spring, to rain, to ice and snow, to sun and clear skies! It is hard to make plans at weekends.
I haven’t heard of bullet journaling, so it’ll be interesting to see what you do. I love the photo of your windmill against the blue skies, it is beautiful.

The weather has been crazy, and apparently we might get another 6 inches on Sunday!

  6. I’m with you on the lists. I think I’ve so far thought that bullet journals were a bit too much about making pretty lists than actually doing stuff, but I might well be wrong and I might yet give them a try.

I’ve been doing a lot of pinning, and I have to admit I’ve always thought that too. But, I think that really they can be whatever you want them to be, and as fancy (or not!) as you want. I like the idea of planning a little more, but having everything in one place and I do like the visual aspects of them… We’ll see!
