Reflections: Week 42

I have to admit, this past week has gone by in a bit of a blur, but it’s been a good one.

My husband was travelling on business, so it was a week of being super-organised and getting the kids to as many of their activities and appointments as possible (not all, as I haven’t mastered cloning myself yet).

Of course, I had also signed up to volunteer in the school several days, and finally been persuaded to join friends at an exercise class.

This resulted in a lot of back and forth between home and school. And, a day of being unable to move after said exercise class!

But, hey ho. It was only a week.

And, the kids were great. There are times when I become very aware that they are all getting older, and are capable of helping out far more than I give them credit for. This past week was one of those times.

I need to give them more credit. And, get them helping out more on a regular basis!

We’re having another busy weekend: a birthday party/sleepover, two soccer matches, a trip to see the My Little Pony movie (check out my super-easy cake if you have a My Little Pony fan!), swim classes, set building for the Middle School play and Girl Scouts… so I’m going to sign off now and get this post published before I rush off to the next thing!

Hope you’ve all had a lovely week. Head over to my Instagram feed to see the rest of this week’s 365 photos…

  1. Lovely photo. Sounds like a very busy week and great to hear that the kids have been helpful. My kids very rarely think to help me out and I’m learning to ask them for help because it’s as important for them and their independence as it is for me and my sanity!

  2. a brilliant capture of a bit of family fun.
Glad you survived the manic week.
I agree they all need to learn to be part of a team and home and help out regardless of their age
