The Prompt: Week 13

Last Updated on

Welcome to Week 13 of The Prompt!

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who linked up for Week 12. I was absolutely thrilled to see people join in again; it’s lovely to see people come back each week, inspired to write by The Prompt.

As always, I really enjoyed reading each post. The discussion ranged from whether honesty really is the best policy, to thoughts on how to take compliments (and take pride) to how truthful we are, or feel we should be, on our blogs; which generated some interesting views on a topic that is close to all our hearts.

The idea of The Prompt is to focus on the writing (not that images are banned, but they should not be central!). It is an opportunity to flex our writing muscles a little. Perhaps try something a little different, leave our comfort zone.

To take a ‘prompt’ and write something: a few lines, a few paragraphs, an essay, an anecdote, a story, a poem, a comic strip; anything! For me it’s all about communicating and enjoying the power, inspiration, humour and wonder of words.

The prompt may take the form of a word, a phrase, a topic, a headline, a quote, an emotion or a scenario…

The Prompt for this week is a phrase and it is:

A perfect day…

I hope that you are inspired and that you will come back on Friday to link up your post!

You can learn more about The Prompt here.

Each Sunday I will publish The Prompt for that week. The linky will then open the following Friday morning and will stay open until the Thursday after, allowing plenty of time to be inspired and link up!

  1. Hi Sara, great prompt! Sorry for not joining in this week, it has been hectic at work and I even struggled to post a couple of simple recipes. I will try my best to link next week. Mel
