Welcome to Week 18 of The Prompt!
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who linked up for Week 17. I was absolutely thrilled to see people join in again, it really is lovely to see people come back each week, and to welcome new linkers, inspired to write by The Prompt.
Last week generated the widest range of posts yet; they were all completely different; from a poem discussing the effect of consumerism on Indian culture, to reflections on parenting and motherhood, to asking whether celebrity marriages inevitably end in divorce!
The idea of The Prompt is to focus on the writing (not that images are banned, but they should not be central!). It is an opportunity to flex our writing muscles a little. Perhaps try something a little different, leave our comfort zone.
To take a ‘prompt’ and write something: a few lines, a few paragraphs, an essay, an anecdote, a story, a poem, a comic strip; anything! For me it’s all about communicating and enjoying the power, inspiration, humour and wonder of words.
The prompt may take the form of a word, a phrase, a topic, a headline, a quote, an emotion or a scenario…
The Prompt for this week is an emotion and it is:
I hope that you are inspired and that you will come back on Friday to link up your post!
You can learn more about The Prompt here.
Each Sunday I will publish The Prompt for that week. The linky will then open the following Friday morning and will stay open until the Thursday after, allowing plenty of time to be inspired and link up!
