The Prompt: Week 30

Welcome to Week 30 of The Prompt!

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who linked up for Week 29. I was absolutely thrilled to see people join in again, it really is lovely to see people come back each week, and to welcome new linkers, inspired to write by The Prompt. It was one of our busiest weeks yet!

I loved reading your posts on the things that you find challenging. There was an amazing range of topics, and the writing was honest, moving and thoughtful. I feel very honoured that people shared their posts with The Prompt.

The idea of The Prompt is to focus on the writing. It is an opportunity to flex our writing muscles a little. Perhaps try something a little different, leave our comfort zone.

To take a ‘prompt’ and write something: a few lines, a few paragraphs, an essay, an anecdote, a story, a poem, a comic strip; anything! For me it’s all about communicating and enjoying the power, inspiration, humour and wonder of words.

These writing prompts may take the form of a word, a phrase, a topic, a headline, a quote, an emotion or a scenario…

The Prompt for this week is a quote and it is:

The highlight of my childhood was making my brother laugh so hard that food came out of his nose. Garrison Keillor

I hope that you are inspired and that you will come back on Friday to link up your post! New posts inspired by The Prompt, or an old one that could have been (!) are equally welcome :)

Each Sunday I will publish The Prompt for that week. The linky will then open the following Friday morning and will stay open until the Thursday after, allowing plenty of time to be inspired and link up!
