Over the last couple of weeks I have joined in with ‘From the Mouths of Babes’ over at Little Hearts Big Love. I have shared old posts, and it has been lovely to reminisce about the funny things that the children, the wee girl in particular, have said.
It has made me realise though that I haven’t written very much in recent months (in fact, the last year) that really captures the cute, and often hilarious, vagaries of toddler speak.
The wee girl is now three, and is very articulate. We can have a proper conversation, and it is wonderful. But, I am already missing some of her more hilarious toddlerisms.
I’ve been madly scribbling, trying to remember some of them to share here (you think you won’t forget, but you do). I want to be able to look back and smile as she, and the boys, continue to develop.
It’s a work in progress, I have a lot to catch up on, but for today I will share one of my current favourites.
It being the season of coughs and sneezes, the wee girl is always sure to say bless you. She also loves when you say it to her, responding with a heartfelt thank you. Recently though, she has developed a twist on the standard bless you.
If you cough, you are comforted with a cough you.
If you sneeze, yup, sneeze you.
Somehow it makes having a cold just a little bit more bearable :)
