I’ve been thinking a lot about what motivates and encourages me recently; while feeling rather unmotivated and discouraged (anyone else really hate winter?).
I’m fairly new to writing fiction. I have always been scared to write imaginatively, creatively; outside my own experiences. It has been easier to play with words within the context of subjects I am familiar and comfortable with.
I didn’t join What I’m Writing last week because I didn’t feel that I had actually been writing. Not in a creative sense anyway.
I didn’t manage to join in with What I’m Writing last week, mainly as I was, well, writing! I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants on the blog recently, always running to catch up, so I’ve been trying to schedule more, to take the pressure off during the week.
Asking the question what makes you a writer? last week has led me to think more about what, and how, I write. Seeing others discuss word counts and editing and targets has made me wonder more about process. How do I write? and am I doing it right?!
The wonderful Maddy at Writing Bubble and Chrissie at Muddled Manuscript have started a fabulous new linky What I’m Writing and it has got me thinking.
