Project 365: my Top 12 of 2014

My 365 Top 12

January: Starting the year with my funny girl.
February: A happy boy, back in Edinburgh for a visit.
March: My little diva.
April: After a long winter, blossom appeared almost over night.
May: The 5yo blowing bubbles in the sunshine.
June: Kings Cross station, taken after my BritMums experience.
July: Sunshine and chasing balls.
August: My boys, watching the fish in a lake.
September: Those curls!
October: A special moment playing with leaves.
November: A frosty morning.
December: Our Boxing Day walk along the beach.

Taking part in my first Project 365 was an amazing experience, taking a photo a day, every day, for a year was quite a challenge. And while I didn’t quite make it (I missed three days) it is something I am proud of, and a wonderful record of our year.

My 365 is an eclectic mix of snap shots, portraits, seasons and weather… Choosing a favourite for each month was difficult, increasingly so as the months wore on. Perhaps I have succeeded in my goal of improving my photography skills after all :)

But, this set of photos captures the essence of our year; from the funny moments to the beautiful to the special. They are not necessarily the technically best photograph from each month, that selection would be very biased towards nature, but they are the ones that make me smile and instantly take me back to the moment they were taken.

And that is what it’s all about.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank The Boy and Me for hosting Project 365 and encouraging us all to record our special moments; and for introducing me to the wonderful 365 community.

The lovely Heledd from Running in Lavender (a beautiful blog, check it out!) has started a new linky called My Captured Moment to allow us to share snapshots, new and old. I’m cheating slightly as I have shared all of these images before, but they are most definitely my captured moments of 2014 :)

    1. It is a lovely idea, I’m so pleased I did it, and I’m looking forward to doing it all again this year :)

  1. You’ve reminded me that I need to do mine as well! Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m so pleased you stuck with the project all year and have decided to continue it.

Love the sunglasses, curls, Boxing Day photo, running through the grass and blossom photos; all so eclectic.

  2. These really are such beautiful photo’s, I really love the playing in the leaves one. You need a lot of frames in your house for all these lovely pics!! xx

  3. Wow what a beautiful collection of captured moments from the year! I love the idea of the 365 project, I’m pretty sure I already do this so I really should get involved.

I think my favourite has to be October, the picture of your pretty girl in her tutu playing with the autumn leaves is just Perfection!

Thank you so much for linking up to #MyCaptuedMoment and for the kind words in your post. Hope to see you back again next week xxx

    1. Thank you Heledd :) I have a set of photos of the wee girl playing in the leaves that day, they are my favourites of the year x

  4. Those are all such wonderful photos. My favourite has to be the one of your little girl playing in the leaves. Absolutely gorgeous. Hugs Mrs H xxxx #MyCapturedMoment

    1. Thank you! I think it gets easier the longer you are doing it, but I still have the odd sleeping child shot when I realise at 11.55pm that I haven’t taken a photo that day :)

  5. Well done on completing the year. Whilst we all want to improve our skills, I think it’s more important to capture those little moments in time. Some of the children, some of the mundane/everyday.

    1. I completely agree Sue, and one of the lovely things about looking back is remembering all those little moments x
