This is the first week, all year, where I haven’t taken a single photo of my children! That’s what a full week of school and activities does.
It has been a busy week, but it’s been a productive one too. I had a long list of things to catch up on, and I have managed to tick them all off. So, I’m feeling a bit more in control.
Still missing the freedom of the summer holidays, but at least the house is getting back in to some kind of order. And, I’ve managed to fill in ALL the forms, send in ALL the right stuff to school and remember ALL the activities. I win at this week!
Top of my list was sorting through the paper that came home at the beginning of the summer, and had sat in a pile ever since. And been added to. On a daily basis… It took a while, but I’m up to date and I’m sure the recycling peeps will love me next week!
P A P E R
I’ve spent the morning going through various piles of paper. You know, the forest that comes home from school, the majestic craft mountain on the kitchen table, the rolling hills of randomness on the coffee table. So much recycling! But, every so often I come across colorful splodges like this that are surprisingly beautiful and they make me smile. Makes the whole process less painful!
My little girl definitely adds to the paper piles more regularly than the rest of us, but some of her additions are really quite pretty. This one might even go into a frame :)
In other news, the soccer season has started well and the 8yo seems to have taken to being a goal keeper, so we’ll see where that goes. The wee girl is still loving school, and the daily afternoon meltdowns are easing. And, the 11yo has joined the Drama Club and got his first, small, role (and will now spend half his after-school life at rehearsals *ahem*) and went to his first Middle School dance.

I think I have weeks in the winter when I don’t take photos of my kids.
It is a lovely piece of artwork. I am like you with the pictures of H sometimes during the school term – some weeks he doesn’t feature.
That’s great you managed to tick everything off your list, I live in hope of that happening one day. Sorting paper is never fun! Glad its done!
It certainly seems busy getting back into it all doesn’t it, we were all exhausted last week. I love the little pieces of artwork they bring home, I just wish there was a little less of it, I have to sneak it into the recycling bin on bin day or it gets spotted and taken out!!
It looks like your children are settling in school and getting into clubs they enjoy. Football is great but the same is the drama club. Encouraging children to follow their passions boosts their confidence.
Who knew there was so much admin for starting back to school! Good on you for being so organised!
It’s all change, that first week in September, isn’t it? I’m not surprised that you’ve not had time for photos. I think the kids enjoy getting back to school and seeing their friends…and we enjoy a little bit of peace, if we’re honest :-)
Think we all have paperwork piles that annoys us at times and that is when mine gets sorted, once it annoys me enough.
