We have snow! But, for once we’re not alone. It’s been strange to see rather a lot of the UK covered in the white stuff too.
It snowed most of the day yesterday, and overnight, and we woke to the most beautiful fresh snow and blue skies. Sigh.
As for the rest of the week, well it’s been another busy one. For a change.
My husband was away on business, so the kids and I were super organised, got into our usual routine and made it through the week in one piece.
I had a lot to get done this week. December can be a bit crazy, can’t it?!
Every year I say I will be more organised in the run up to Christmas, and every year I’m not. This year, I think I’m actually doing okay, and feel quite prepared. I have most presents bought, the Christmas cards have arrived from the printers and the house is decorated.
I put the trees up last weekend, but spent the rest of the week adding little touches of sparkle to the rest of the house. I LOVE decorating for Christmas, I’m allowed to put up even more fairy lights. It’s lovely to walk around in the evenings, it feels like the house is glowing.
Every year I forget to pack away at least one more set of lights, ahem.
I’m sure panic will set in next week, when I write a final list and realise all the things I’ve forgotten, but right now I feel pretty good.
And on top of all that, my mother arrives next week and everything is ready. Two whole days early!
I’m going to leave you with a bonus photo this week, because I couldn’t resist. Isn’t this a face of pure joy?
Hope you’ve all had a lovely week. Head over to my Instagram feed to see the rest of this week’s 365 photos…
i’ve ended up donating a lot of surplus xmas decs to the maids this year and keeping them to the 2 trees and the stairs, there were too many lights that i just couldn’t be bothered to put up. enjoy christmas with your mum and the family
Hope you have a great time over the holidays with your mum being there. I am glad you shared the extra photo, it is priceless and she looks so happy, well captured.
It is a busy time and I have most of it done, a few odds and ends left.
What a gorgeous face! Every year I say I’m going to get prepared earlier and every year I don’t! I think I’ve bought everything, but have more wrapping to do. We still don’t have a tree and goodness knows when we’ll get one because my husband is away at the weekend and I can’t fit one in my car!
Had to laugh at you ‘accidentally’ leaving the Christmas lights out every year.
