Siblings: April 2015

Siblings April 2015

As I attempted to take photographs of my three for Siblings this month I realised that these photo shoots are always going to result in face pulling, teasing, cheesy grins and general hilarity. Because that’s just how they are.

I suspect that I am going to have a years worth of photos like these, and you know what, they might not be perfect but they are perfect for me. They are so absolutely them. And, I love them, and the photos :)

The wee girl will always make faces at her brothers, or give me the biggest of cheesy grins with her eyes all screwed up.

The 8yo will always try to be the big brother, but will lose it after about thirty seconds and make faces right back.

The 6yo will flit between snuggling up to his brother or sister and jumping about like an over excited puppy.

This past month has seen rather more bickering that usual. A combination of major cabin fever, a desperate need to get outside and run around, and the wee girl asserting herself more has resulted in some epic sibling battles.

Thankfully, the moments of fun still outweigh the fights, but I wonder if it will get worse before it gets better? As the wee girl learns to play with the boys rather than annoy them and, in turn, they learn how to engage with her rather than become irritated by her.

This month has also seen us celebrate two birthdays, with the wee girl turning three and the 5yo becoming the 6yo.

It has been a lot of fun, and as the weather finally starts to improve I am starting to look forward to a summer of play, where the wee girl can keep up with her brothers.

And to more photo shoots like this one!

I love how their personalities are captured so beautifully in these photos. These will be the snaps you look back on when they’re all grown and remember with the most affection.
