So. We failed completely on the apple picking and pumpkin patch visiting this year. I fear that makes me a bad blogger, but hey ho!
We did however manage a very damp and drizzly (with the odd downpour thrown in for good measure) visit to one of our local farms (where we could have picked apples and visited the pumpkins, but didn’t).
Connors Farm is about half an hour to the north of where we live, and is one of those really-must-get-around-to-visiting places. So, when my younger son was invited to a birthday party there, we thought we’d make an afternoon of it. The weather forecast at the point looked good…
Sadly, the forecast was wrong! But, as they say, no such thing as bad weather and we were determined to make the most of it.
My little girl didn’t care in the slightest that it was raining, and while the rest of us might have been a little chilly and grumpy, she had an absolute blast. So, it was worth every damp minute.
Feeding the animals is definitely one of her favorite things to do, and she enjoyed trying out all the various trikes and pedal cars.
And, having failed on the apple and pumpkin front, we did manage a corn maze.
The corn towered over my little girl (and me for that matter) and we had a few moments of hmm, we’re lost. And, the wee girl kept running off and then realising that she couldn’t see us. But, we did eventually find our way out again, much to everyone’s relief!
The little kids play area had it’s own maze, which was declared the worst maze ever. Because ‘it’s not a maze…’! So there.
There were play areas all around the central pond, and they are beautifully done. My daughter enjoyed trying everything out, at least once, even the very damp sandpit.
We had seen the cow train looping around the fields at various points, and a trip on that was a must, and a big hit.
And racing the ducks was a great fun!
I’m so glad that we went through with our plan. Despite the weather, it was a lovely afternoon. We will just have to go back when the sun is shining. Maybe even pick some fruit.
And, of course, pumpkins. At least I managed to get a photo of some… that gets me some blogger points, doesn’t it?

Absolutely, so much fun :)
Aw she is the perfect age to enjoy a day at a farm like this. The rides look great fun especially those carts following the tractor. You’d never know it was raining from the beams all over her face. I can just imagine the older two dragging behind a little now they are older, but it must have been worth every minute for the fun she had. Great photos to look back on, definitely moments worth capturing, they pass and never come back.

Yup, the rain didn’t bother her at all :) It was a lot of fun, we’ll definitely have to go back when the weather is better!
It looks a lovely place. We didn’t do pumpkin picking either…..I’m not sure it even exists here in Sweden, but it does mean my blog is void of the event too :-) #countrykids

I love the look of the pedal cars and the maize! We never had the chance to visit a pumpkin park either, I don’t think there’s any near us in North Cornwall. The kids look like they enjoyed the visit in the farm. I bet they loved it as much as they would love a pumpkin patch ;)
I think they did too, more fun playing than just choosing a pumpkin :)

Love how much fun your wee girl is having in all your photos in spite of the rain! That maze in the kids area is a bit disappointing but the big corn maze looks like fun as does the rest of the play area. #countrykids
