Last weekend we went for a walk in our wellies.
It was a beautiful day (yes, my husband really is wearing shorts and a t-shirt on 2nd November!), and we didn’t really need our wellies. But, we wanted to remember a special little girl and to support her mummy. So, thousands of miles away from the Matilda Mae Welly Walk in Beale Park, we had our own walk.
We headed to Middlesex Fells, where we often go if we just want to get out for an hour and stretch our legs.
This is the first time that the wee girl has joined in the walk! She has always been in the back pack before. But steadier legs mean that she can now manage most of this walk herself, and it was absolutely lovely to see her running along with her brothers.
There were leaves to be kicked; trees to be hugged; branches to be pulled; rocks to be climbed; treasures to be found.
And, of course, there were bubbles to be blown.

In memory of Matilda Mae.
As always I am linking up with the wonderful Coombe Mill’s Country Kids. Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to and be inspired to get outside!

Your kids have such beautiful surroundings. There are lovely aspects to Scotland too of course, but this is such a precious opportunity, living somewhere so different.
We are really lucky – and it’s all so accessible, a five/ten minute drive and were in the middle of a reservation. Scotland is beautiful, but we’ve been pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous the countryside is here (which we hadn’t really expected) – and even the towns are amazingly green – there are trees and ponds everywhere :)
What a gorgeous little family you have. You’ve certainly captured the essence of Autumn and for such a great cause.Popping over from Country Kids.
Thank you so much xx
