Expat: fighting Nemo…

THE EXPAT EXPERIENCE

I think I can categorically say now that I hate snow…

But I should probably caveat that by saying that what I really hate is snow plus toddler plus baby plus buggy!

I am so grateful to my neighbour, a fellow school mom and my husband for helping out the week after Nemo. On the Wednesday morning I actually cried when I got halfway down my drive and couldn’t get any further because of the sheet of ice that had appeared overnight due to the snow melt of the previous afternoon/evening. With baby in sling and toddler clinging on to my hand I was stuck, and admit that I completely wimped out. Thankfully hubby was taking the 6yo to school and came back and got the 3yo and took him in too!

I came horribly close to calling and cancelling my little girls music class but after giving myself a good talking to I popped her in the buggy, used it to hold me up over the ice and walked on the road for several blocks before the pavements were clear enough to negotiate with the buggy…

In all fairness, the snow clearing has been really good – for people – just not for a mum+buggy…

Sidewalks not meant for strollers

As I walked back home after my little girls music class I saw this:

No entry

I think that pretty much sums it up! Roll on spring… Please!
