My week that was [6]

My week that was

This post is a little late this week; my WordPress App crashed and ate my post, took me a few days to summon the energy to rewrite!

I’m linking up with Real Housewife of Suffolk County again this week to share ‘my week that was…’.

This week was a bit tough, feeling a little low and far from home. And the terrible news from a fellow mummy blogger cast a sad shadow over the week. I have been more aware of missing friends and family this week, which is ironic as we are actually heading to the UK for a week over the school vacation!

Monday
Walked into town in the morning and had a nice cup of tea while the wee girl napped. Have been feeling a bit cooped up with the weather and it was nice to get out for a walk. We then headed to the wee girls swimming class – good fun as always! Quiet afternoon with the boys, working on the 100 words project, and a nice evening with hubby.

Tuesday
Had a very productive morning! Caught up on my (Heart) my Art activities as I hadn’t managed to get much done over the weekend. Then headed to the Post Office to send off three birthday presents – one was already late, one was for the following day (!) and one is going to be late! Although, my fingers were crossed for that one as it was for my mother…! Picked the boys up from school, sorted homework, finished 100 words project, got them into bed at a sensible hour and settled down to a couple of episodes of The West Wing with hubby – our current box set :)

Wednesday
More snow today (yes, my obsession with the weather continues!). Thankfully it had cleared by the afternoon! Music class with the wee girl – great fun – she really loves it! This weeks new trick is dancing – completely adorable :) And this was the 100th day of school, so my 6yo went into school clutching his 100 days project – he was really pleased with it and I was very proud of him :)

Thursday
A fairly quiet morning catching up on housework and washing. Having spent the week hoping that the predictions for our first real winter storm were wrong, by today we knew they weren’t! After picking the boys up from school the call came in to confirm that schools would be closed the following day… Thankfully my husbands office also decided to close. So we got ourselves home and prepared for the storm!

Friday
I popped out first thing to stock up on essentials (milk, bread, eggs, wine…) and made it home just as the snow started… It snowed for the rest of the day! A traffic ban came into force at 4pm, so that was us officially housebound! Went to bed wondering what the town would look like come morning…

Saturday
We woke up to a lot of snow! So much so that we had to dig ourselves out of the house. Couldn’t really do much today other than start clearing pavements etc. The traffic ban was lifted at 4pm, but our street wasn’t fully ploughed, so we weren’t going anywhere! Our next door neighbour popped round for a glass of wine in the evening though :)

Sunday
Another fairly housebound day. Hubby took the boys sledging though which the 3yo loved. 6yo not such a fan of being cold and wet! Can’t say I blame him :) If you want to see some photos of the several feet of snow and hear more about our first proper snowstorm pop over to my post about Nemo.

Please hop on over to Real Housewife of Suffolk County to check out her blog, how to link up and see how hers, and others, weeks went!

  1. Wow sounds like a busy week but with lots of distruption due to the snow! I hate the stuff, mainly due to how much trouble it causes.
I love how you have projects and your children have classes/groups they go to.
Thank you for linking up. Enjoy your holiday in the UK! xx
