It was a beautiful day today, despite the fact that we got another foot of snow yesterday! After a week of being confined to the house by sick children and then by the snow storm, I was desperate to get us all outside today.
So we went for a walk in Breakheart Reservation, which is about a 10 minute drive from us. It’s absolutely beautiful, and we don’t get there nearly often enough – hopefully as the weather improves we’ll head out and explore a lot more often.
The boys took their scooters and we popped the wee girl in the Ergo and off we went.
The boys were having a great time, especially the 3yo who adores being outside, and loves the snow! Sadly, he wasn’t paying attention to where he was going and after scooting through a puddle, decided to scoot back into it, not realising that it was actually quite deep at one side…! It was in fact more of a pond! He fell in… And that was our walk over, rather sooner than expected, with one very wet and cold small person! We tried not to laugh too much :)
I’m linking up with Coombe Mill’s Country Kids for the first time this week. Reading all the wonderful posts each week has inspired me to try and get the kids outside much more (especially my tech obsessed 6yo!), but the weather has been dreadful. However, it finally cooperated today, so I made sure we got ourselves outside. Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to!

Delighted you have come to join me over on Country Kids and enjoying some of the lovely posts linked up each week. I am quite envious of your snow since we have had none in Cornwall this year, though we are promised a little flurry this week. That puddle incident is so typically kid like, I don’t think mine can look at water of any sort without finishing up drenched!
Glad to be there! Poor boy was soaked and very cold, but he took it in his stride as he does everything :)
Such fun looking back on this first post, I can’t believe it is really 2 years ago.
Oh glad you are joining in! Such a great inspiration for us to get my wee man out and about as much as possible! Definitely harder when the weather sucks! Glad you got some fresh air and hoped your wee man warmed up quick!
He was blue by the time we got him home, sent him straight to bed to cosy up! Thanks for reading :)
Looks like you had loads of fun – great to have a place like this so close to where you live :) That is really funny about your boy going through the puddle – my one just stands in them until the water goes everywhere – once I had to strip him down to his vest and carry him on my shoulders :) Thanks for stopping by my blog by the way
