I probably shouldn’t speak too soon, but… I think that the weather may be taking a turn for the better!
The 3yo had been asking to go to a pond for a couple of days, but what with one thing and another we hadn’t had a chance to. On Friday both boys were off school, so as soon as we finished breakfast we headed off to Lake Quannapowitt. This is a beautiful lake about 10 minutes drive from our house which has the added benefit of a fantastic play park.
The top photo was taken last summer, the bottom one on Friday – not quite such a nice day, but still amazing looking out over the lake from the park.
The boys made a beeline for the swings, so I popped the wee girl in one too. They all had a ball.
Then the boys headed over to the climbing frame. The 3yo immediately climbed a wall, looking very pleased with himself when he got to the top!
The 6yo headed for the bigger stuff (the 3yo was very disappointed that his legs weren’t long enough to reach some things!).
Then it was time to play at the pond – after all this had been the main reason we were there! The boys played a game of boats and submarines with sticks. As the water lapped over the sticks, the 6yo decided that his were submarines, so they were fine, but the 3yo’s were the Titanic, so they had sunk… He always finds a way to win!

Thanks! They had a great time, even the wee girl who crawled around trying to eat bark :) It might not have been warm, but it was bright and dry, and there was no snow!

It’s a great play park, we’re really spoilt here for parks, lakes, ponds, forest etc. all within 10-15 mins of the house. Have yet to find an indoor ‘soft play’ though! Perhaps a sign of lifestyle :) Thanks for commenting xx

What an amazing park, I really hope that the weather has turned for you! We had beautiful sunshine on Easter Sunday with warm winds and today it is like the middle of Winter again. Rubbish!

It is a fantastic park! We’ve had a lovey couple of days weather wise, at last, except for the rather sudden, and unexpected, torrential rain that we got caught in this afternoon – I have some great photos of very wet children :) Thanks for stopping by xx
Wow! That playground looks brilliant. I love the different swings especially the ‘armchair’ one :) It’s nice and sunny here now but the wind is still bitter so hope you have some more spring weather very soon x
