At last some warm weather! The boys having been asking to have a water fight for weeks, but it’s been far too cold. Today it’s lovely and in an attempt to get them to go outside for a bit, I went and found the water pistols…

They had a wonderful time running around getting wet – although the 6yo definitely came off worse (time to get him a better water pistol I think!).
Their sister enjoyed watching them run around in front of her (occasionally splashing her!) and she joined in the happy squealing and shrieking – and I bet she can’t wait to join in the running around too!

I would however just like to add that I have a massive aversion to guns of any kind, and as a naive new parent of a small boy, thought that we would have no ‘weapon’ toys in our house… ha ha! I have discovered that, if left to their own devices, boys (and, I imagine, girls) can make a gun or a sword out of anything – sticks, loo roll, pencils, forks, dive sticks, candles, bananas… The list is endless and I admitted defeat quite some time ago… I just try to limit the sword play/karate/kung fu battles in the house where they might break something (other than each other…).
