The Gallery – Dads

The theme of The Gallery this week is Dads.

My husband is the most wonderful father, it is a role that he was meant for.

He is hands on, he is responsible, he protects.

He is the dad that all the kids flock to – he entertains them, he makes them laugh, he sings silly songs and pulls silly faces.

He always knows the right game to play, the right activity to organise, the right story to tell.

He is a natural.

I watch him with our three and I know that they (and I) are very lucky.

He adores them and they adore him. I know that he would do absolutely anything, stop at nothing, to make sure that they are safe and happy.

We love you!

I lost my father when I was 19 – he was only 43, far too young – I have very few photos of him. But, I cannot write a post about Dads and not share the few pictures I was able to find.

I wish I had had more time, dad, I wish I had known you better.

  1. 19 is to young to lose a dad. :( I’m sorry. My father died 4 years ago now. . I was not 19 but, in my 30’s. Sigh*** It’s so great your husband is wonderful and such a cutie too. :) Your children are adorable and I love all your photos. Have a great week.

  2. Wonderful tributes to the amazing Dads in your life. So sorry you lost your own Dad at a young age. I love his photos of when he was a young child. Your own OH sounds like an amazing Dad too!

Your husband sounds like such an amazing dad. And how sad to lose your own dad at such a young age, that must have been very hard.

  4. This is beautiful yet sad all at the same time. Your husband certainly sounds (and looks) like a total natural – i love the shot of the kids clambering all over him and he is still smiling! So sorry to hear that your dad’s life was cut so short. The world can be a cruel place :( x

  5. Wonderful collection of photos of them both – that first one of your dad is fabulous, I’m so sorry you didn’t have more time with him. Lovely words about your husband too, he sounds really special. Like the baby plate rest! x

    1. Thank you x That first photo of my dad is my favourite – I love it. The baby plate rest always makes me smile. She had her first cold and that was the only way she’d settle, so hubby was stuck :)

So sorry for your loss too, and so young. :(
Love the photos full of love of your husband and children. xx
