The theme from Tara for The Gallery this week is sun.
The weather so far this summer has been fabulous, bar the odd spectacular thunderstorm.
I have so many sunny photographs from our adventures – as a Scot, I still feel the need to make the most of every bit of sunshine ‘just in case it rains tomorrow‘ – I couldn’t pick just one, but I’ve chosen three that, for me, encapsulate our most special times in the sun so far this year.

Lovely summer photos, I can tell you really do make the most of the sun x
Thank you! We really do try – it’s such a novelty to us Scots :)
A Scottish mum in Boston?? How jealous am I! We visited Boston the year before last and fell in love. Harvard is my spiritual home – such a wonderful place.
It’s a lovely city isn’t it? I’d visited several times over the years before we moved out here, and I love it. We live about 20 mins out of the city – best of both worlds :)
I couldn’t pick between those three, they all look like a fabulous way to spend a sunny day. The thunderstorms over here really are spectacular aren’t they, more on the way for us this evening too :-)
The thunder is incredible – I love a good thunderstorm and we’ve had some fab ones – I could do without the humidity though :)
Lovely photos. I know what you mean about feeling the need to make the most of the sun. I get stressed if I’m missing the rays because they can be so few and far between!
I know! It seems such a waste to be inside when it’s lovely outside :)
Gorgeous photos Sara – I’m not sure I could pick between those. I too have a silly number of sunny photos, mainly taken over the last few days! It must be great having such good weather over there and it being so much more reliable :)
It is lovely, although it’s been very humid and thundery over the last couple of weeks – still lovely and warm though, haven’t worn a cardy for about a month!
fantastic i am loving your picnic and warm water!! *slightly green with jealously* x
He he, it is lovely :)
Fab photos – love the shady trees xx
Thank you!
Nice choices! The water looks lovely & inviting.
Thank you! The water is lovely, perfect for splashing about and cooling off in :)
Such lovely photos, and happy, sunny memories. Smiled at the ‘just in case it rains tomorrow…’ comment, I’m from Northern Ireland so know what you mean! x
Thank you :) I get twitchy on a sunny day if we don’t get outside!
oooh i love that first photo of the trees with the shadows cast on the woodland floor. water is good for keeping cool in the hear and I LOVE eating outside in the sunshine – i think all kids too too. lovely photos x
Thank you! I love the woods too, walking through the dappled light is very peaceful x
Oh the sunlight on the ripples of the warm water are magnificent. Hope you’re enjoying the Summer across the pond?
Nipping over from The Gallery.
Thank you! We’re having a lovely time, making the most of sun, and enjoying the spectacular thunderstorms :) Could do with a bit less humidity, but I’m not complaining – spending so much time outside (warm!) is just fab!
beautiful play of shdows in the first photo and wonderful water colours round the boys! The last photo looks like a very happy moment for everyone!
Thank you – I love walking through the woods on a sunny day, and we’re all enjoying eating outside so much :)
That wood looks beautiful, would love to have a run through there :)
There are some beautiful woods near us – and some lovely running trails. I’ve stuck to walking the trails so far, but I’m very tempted! Especially where the trails take in a lake too :)
looks like you are making the most of it! beautiful
Thank you – we are certainly trying too :)
very very jealous of all that sun!
He he, I could definitely get used to it!
You really captured that summer feeling! :) Lovely photos. xx
Thank you xx
Everything is just so much nicer in the sunshine, isn’t it?
It really is!
