This photo was taken a year ago.
We had been in the US for six weeks and I was finally starting to relax.
The move itself had been very stressful, moving overseas with three children, one of whom was only four months old, is not recommended! The day the movers came was one of the most awful days, ever (I still haven’t actually written about the day itself – probably best forgotten at this stage!). By the time moving day arrived I was exhausted, mentally and physically, and it took me quite a while to recover.
It’s all bit of a blur really, but when I saw this photo I knew that it was all going to be okay.
For the first time in a very long time I looked relaxed, rested and happy.
I had my kids around me, we had a lovely day – lots of cake and pink fizz (guaranteed to make me smile!) – it was just what I needed.
A year later and I have just celebrated again – and I still look relaxed and happy!

Thank you Charly :) I have so many photos of myself where I just look tired, it was such a surprise when I saw the first one and thought, gosh – I don’t look tired! I can’t quite believe it’s been a year :) And thank you for the lovely welcome back from hols xx
I love your photos…I really don’t include myself enough in pics with my girls which makes me sad. You look happy and relaxed in both…gorgeous family! can’t imagine a move that bi with little kids in tow…well done you!
Thank you – I take most of the photos, so I’m not in them very often, but we try to catch me every so often :) The move was hard work, but it was worth it, and the photos tell a good story xx
Oh gosh I don’t think I had fully appreciated how you moved whilst the wee girl was so little! Bless you! You look so pretty in all these photographs and what a lovely family you have. Here’s to happy healthy relaxed times to come (and to pink fizz)! xx
