Last week the following conversation took place between the 4yo and 7yo:
4yo: Goo goo ga ga. I am talking baby.
7yo: That’s a myth.
4yo: What’s a myth?
7yo: Something that’s made up. Like Jesus.
I choked on my tea, had to very ungracefully spit it in to the sink.
The 7yo has been reading about myths lately, the Roman and Greek Gods, amongst others. I assume in his mind all ‘gods’ currently fall into the same category… Whatever your personal beliefs, it’s not really the done thing to include Jesus alongside Zeus and Poseidon! Certainly not in public.
A wee chat may be in order!
[Update 13 April 2015: I am revisiting this old post for the From the Mouths of Babes linky, from the lovely Louise of Little Hearts Big Love. As I reread it, I snorted all over again. Kids, you’ve got to love them :)]

hahahah!! Brilliant! x
Thanks!
Oh dear, out of the mouth of babes hey?! They do say the funniest things :-D
I know, thank goodness we weren’t in public :)
haha! love it!
Thanks!
Well, my husband would contend that Zeus and Poseidon exist so perhaps Jesus is a myth too. But then he’s a bit random like that ;)
Well, you know, one man’s myth is another man’s… something :)
Haha! Love this! As a Christian we haven’t covered the idea of it being a myth. Although my youngest keeps referring to jess as ‘the man’ I suppose that’s as good as I’ll get. Glad you revisited this for us. But it must have been great to highlight how funny they were too! #ftmob
I was just glad we were at home when that particular conversation happened :)
Lol, so funny – I can see his logic! Thanks for sharing with #ftmob :-)
Hehehe this did make me giggle! =D
