I celebrated my birthday last week and one of my presents is to be a night away, in a hotel, with no children! A rare treat :)
We were discussing this and my 7yo said ‘And mummy, you can get a lie-in!’.
The 4yo on hearing this looked rather shocked and a little upset.
‘But, but, you can’t get a lie-in, it would eat [the wee girl]!’.
Cue confusion on our part.
Oh, I see..
‘No sweetheart, not a lion and lie-in…!’.
I’m linking up to Actually Mummy’s Wot So Funee linky again this week. Click on the badge below to have a giggle at some fun posts.

Aww too cute! Bless her x
It was very sweet!
too sweet! we’ve started trying to come up with homonyms ourselves. They are quite creative in their pronunciation!
Aren’t they – I love kid speak :)
how funny! x
Thanks!
Aww that’s just wonderful Sara. Happy birthday – I hope you enjoyed your treat :)
Thanks Charly x
aww sweet!
It did make me smile :)
Awww poor boy. Very sweet too :)
He looked so worried!
Aha, we know that one too! We always roar after talking about lie-ins, those oh so elusive things that we might get back one day in about 18 years time?! :)
Very elusive! I do miss them :)
So CUTE! Go on though, get a lion, it could be fun…?
Could be… :) A bit tough on the furniture though, I’d imagine…!
Funny! I can see why he was upset!
It was funny, but he looked so worried, poor wee soul :)
