We have a lot of leaves in the garden.
A LOT!
However, my husband has been doing an excellent job of turning raking into a game :)
Last weekend the kids spent about two hours in the garden helping to rake and helping to bag. But, they also spent lots of time jumping into piles of leaves, making leaf angels and throwing leaves!
Our photos are similar in number to the leaves, but I think they tell the story of our morning better than I can…

After all the fun though, the leaves did need to be bagged. We can still have a bit of fun with that too though…
In the end there were 12 bags plus two bins full of leaves to go out for the yard waste collection this week. And, looking at the garden, we can do it all again this weekend!
But, who knew raking leaves could be so much fun :)
As always I am linking up with the wonderful Coombe Mill’s Country Kids. Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to and be inspired to get outside!

that looks far too much fun!
Ha! It was great fun :)
your pictures tell a whole story & are so beautiful. What gorgeous children & such rich colours for autumn making the photos just stunning*** #countykids
Oh, thank you lovely xx
Oh wow, what great fun! Hooray for fall leaves!
Absolutely :) The kids had such a good time playing in them! They didn’t even mind helping clear them up :)
Awesome. We too have lots of leaves but fortunately a storm blew most of them away and the rest into the borders, saving me a huge job.
It is a huge job, we have almost as many again!
Such great photos they all looked like they had so much fun! What a great idea turning the tidying up into a fun game!
Thank you – they had a lot of fun :) And it got all the leaves cleared up!
If only all tasks could be this much fun! Lovely photos too :)
I know! Thanks :)
I have leaf envy! We went looking for piles of leaves yesterday for our Me & Mine photo and couldn’t find any. Think they have all blown away. :( Great photos! x
We’ve been lucky, very little rain, so nice crunchy leaves :)
Wow – that is a lot of leaves, you were not kidding! Such brilliant photos, and I love how everyone got involved and a chore became a fun day :)
Thanks Jocelyn! There are almost as many again… :)
Wow, that really is a lot of leaves! And it looks like the children had masses of fun in them!
It is (!) and they did :) Huge piles of crunchy leaves to jump in!
Wow that looks great fun! My boys would love to have all those leaves in our garden but we don’t have any :(
It was great fun – but a lot of leaves to bag :)
Amazing photos and yes indeed so much fun. You need lovely dry leaves to do this and yours look perfect. We are in fact collecting ours as I type as our little ride on play area is awash with leaves! A wonderful Country Kids link up
Thanks Fiona – we’ve been lucky with the weather, so the leaves are nice and dry and crunchy! Thanks for hosting x
That’s a lot of leaves and a lot of fun too! ;)
Thanks, it was :)
Wow Sara it looks like everyone had SO much fun with those leaves. Loads of them too! I hope operation tidy up is complete now. Fabulous photos :)
It was complete, but now the garden is covered again :) Almost no leaves left on the trees though, so nearly there!
Wow! Lots of leaves, and lots of fun! #CountryKids
Thanks, it was :)
Great shots of them jumping in the leaves. We’ve been having to do huge rake ups as well – but I’m going to let them play in the huge piles like you next time. (Most of our neighbours think we’re the nutty ones doing the raking ourselves!)
I know what you mean – very few people seem to do their own… :)
That is a lot of leaves!
It certainly is! And there’s more now :)
We love leaves too. There are so many things you can do with them. Your photo’s are great.
Thank you! Lots of fun :)
What massive piles of leaves! Unfortunately our tree is a conker tree so jumping into a pile of our fallen leaves would be a massive ouch. It seems so sunny and dry there too – great game and clever hubby for turning raking into one.
Ah, yes – that would be ouch :) We have been lucky with the weather on the whole so far, very little rain – although I think this means we are now officially in drought! The kids had a lot of fun :)
oh my goodness i want to come and jump into those leaves…….pretty please? what fun they had and i honestly cannot believe how many leaves you had in your garden!! always a good idea to turn a chore into a game too lovely photos x
He he! Would you believe that we have almost the same again? More raking for us :)
Amazing photos.
You’ve definitely captures the fun they had.
I bet they can’t wait to help again
Thanks! I hope so, because there’s lots more raking to be done :)
Oh wow, what fun! You have a lot of leaves!! We’ve missed out a bit on the leaves this year as they’re just so wet-no crunch….boo.
It has been great fun, and we’ve been lucky – nice and dry :)
Wow, that looks like so much fun! I am quite jealous as the only leaves we’ve had so far have been too wet to play in like that.
Great photos!
Thanks for linking #LetKidsBeKids
Thanks, we have been lucky with the weather :) I’m hoping that we can finish the clear up before any rain!
Popping by again with #LetKidsBeKids, and I do so love the photos in this post :)
Thanks Jocelyn xx
Absolutely beautiful photos! I’m currently debating over whether I like Spring or Autumn the best, and posts like this and crisp sunny days are winning it for me at the mo ;-) #letkidsbekids
I think Autumn is winning for me at the moment :) Thank you x
Oh wow, that’s the best pile of leaves EVER!!!! Great photographs :)
Thank you :)
Oh my goodness. That seems a lot of leaves. But what fun. Reminding me that I need to rake up ours.
Popping over from #LetKidsBeKids
