We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving here in the US.
We had a wonderful meal with friends. Four families came together to celebrate.
It was one of those fun, easy, laughter filled meals. The food was fabulous. The conversation flowed. The children all got on, so disappeared and left the adults to linger over a glass at the end of the meal!
It is a holiday where you are encouraged to take time to reflect on what you are thankful for. To take a moment, stop and recognise all that is good, forget the stresses and strains of the day to day, see past difficulties and be grateful for all that you are blessed with.
I am thankful for new friends who welcomed us into their home to celebrate with them.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband, who puts up with his slightly neurotic wife with a smile.
I am thankful for my beautiful, amazing children who remind what life is all about daily.
I am thankful for my family, my mother and my sister, and their support.
I am thankful for all my friends, old and new.
I am thankful for our new neighbours and community who have welcomed us and helped us feel at home.
I am thankful for the simple pleasures of family time.
I am thankful for all that we have.
I treasure my family and friends, and the time we spend together.
