Today, after having an entertaining coffee in town (the wee girl doing the entertaining, of the whole cafe!) my mum and I walked home. We stopped at the pond and let the wee girl have a good run around. Then, once we were back off the main road again, she walked the rest of the way home.
We had a little bit more snow yesterday and a dusting of new snow covered the icy remains of last weeks snowstorms. It was interesting to discover the thick layer of ice under the snow every so often – the wee girl looking at the leaves and grass caught in the ice with interest. The pond is frozen and covered in snow, it was more like looking out over a field than a pond.
There were icy, crunchy leaves to play with and the piles of snow were irresistible to little hands, until the forgotten burning cold feeling was back and the tears came. But mummy was there to replace gloves, and to cuddle and carry until those hands warmed up again.
A lovely walk, made more special by being able to share it with Granny, who arrived (as a surprise for me!) last weekend. After a couple of very wet days before Christmas and a quiet, relaxing few days over Christmas it’s time to get out and about again and make the most of the dry days.

Lovely snowy fun! My wee man can’t wait to see some snow. We are visiting family in Italy and the snow looks very tempting up on the mountains!

What lovely fun in the snow – I am very envious as we would have loved a white christmas! I wish we had snow :-( lol, looks like u had a fab time and there wee little one got to explore in the snow and find hidden things in the ice, my kids loved the snow earlier in the year we didn’t have a sledge so we used a old tray which brought so much joy to them lol.
