This week we have finally managed to start walking to school again, which is wonderful. I had really missed the fresh air and the exercise.
The boys had a day off on Wednesday (an inservice day), so we all went out for a walk, making the most of a dry, bright day. Yesterday the wee girl and I met friends at the park for a run around. It was a bit dull and damp, but we were all in need of an hour outside! There was lots of swinging and climbing and running. My view for most of our visit was of the wee girl’s back!
Today, the 4yo wasn’t at preschool and he asked if we could go to the park. Thankfully it was a beautiful sunny day, albeit a little chilly, so off we went; back to the same park! Having learnt my lesson yesterday with mud, puddles and wet equipment resulting in a very damp wee girl for the journey home; today the snow pants and boots came out :)
While we were on the swings, the 4yo was fascinated by the shadows, and he pretended to be a bird, flapping his wings.
He loves climbing, and although I watch with my heart in my mouth, he is so capable and confident; it makes me very proud.
As we left the park, the 4yo climbed around a huge tree fascinated by the bark, and the roots that he could clamber over.
We’re making the most of any opportunity to get outside at the moment!
I’m linking up with the wonderful Country Kids at Coombe Mill again this week. Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to and be inspired to get outside!

Lovely pics! We’re trying to make the most of it as well :) x
That slide is great! Glad to see all that white stuff has disappeared!
glad you are able to enjoy some park time :-) lovely pics
Looks like a great park with some good equipment, no wonder they are keen to go there. Kids confidence in agility comes on leaps and bounds at places like this, stressful as it looks to watch as Mum! Thankyou for linking up to Country Kids
That’s a fab little park, and I love the way that little miss wants to try the ladder but settles for the steps instead. That three person slide is awesome!
Nipping over from Country Kids
Looks like a great park to visit with the kids. And wonderful swing shadows.
looks so sunshiney! love the swing shots!
Loving that slide!!! Glad you were all able to get out and about – we have the same with the boys as we all start to get cabin fever #CountryKids
That slide looks great! I share your fear regarding climbing-my son could climb the climbing frame at 18 months before he was walking! I don’t blame you making the most of being outside, especially after all the snow and freezing temperatures you’ve had.
Lovely photos, and I do like the wiggly slide – fun! Nice to see you can get out without snow now :) #CountryKids
Love the pictures of the shadows, a lovely day to be at the park with the sun out!
Looks like a great park. Lots of smiles. Your little girl is getting so big.
what a pair of cuties i hope your daughter was not to wet after going into that enormous puddle i have never seen a slide that that Sophie would love a go if she saw it #CountryKids
What a fabulous outing and not a drop of the white stuff!! Clambering on that tree looks great fun xx
Fab photos! Looks like you all had a wonderful time x
I love the look of that slide! I resolve to get to the play park more often before the kids get too old to be bothered with it!
What a cool slide, my children would love it! #LetKidsBeKids
