At the risk of boring you all silly, this week we have been mainly… playing in the snow!
It may have snowed on Monday and Thursday, but the beginning of the week was much milder. As we’ve been cooped up so much I’ve been making sure that we walk to and from school when we can, and that the kids play in the garden when we get home in the afternoon.
After two months of snow I’m running low on inspiration, so I’ve largely left them to their own devices. And, they are quite happy to play; kicking over precarious lumps of ice left by the beginnings of the melt, spinning on sledges and playing with ice left in buckets.
For those who read last weeks post about their potion, over the weekend it was mild enough for the collected snow and ice to start to melt. The kids spent ages smashing it and mixing it, finishing their potion!
They enjoyed running around in the snow in t-shirts, revelling in the fact that it wasn’t stupidly cold and the sun was actually shining; and warm!
The sledges came out again, and there was spinning and sliding and laughing!
And, there was ice in a bucket. Lots of fun to be had poking and smashing and mixing :)
I’m really done with the snow; it’s been great fun and the kids have loved it, but it’s the middle of March now! Here’s hoping that next weeks post doesn’t feature snow (I’m not holding my breath!).

Oh dear, and here we all are celebrating Spring with daffodils and sunshine! It foes look as if the children are perfectly happy but I can totally identify with how you must be feeling. And you can expect a good long summer. I’m not so sure we can expect the same!

Wow I can’t believe his much snow you’ve gad. Can you inside it snowing in the UK did two months straight? No one would go out :) lovely photos!
We have had a lot of snow this year, everyone has commented on the excess of it :) But, at least the infrastructure can cope!

It’s funny, it was a only a few degrees above freezing, but it felt really warm to us :) It’s all relative isn’t it?!
oh we have missed not having any snow this year. Its loved by the children and your photos are a great story montage showing just how much they’re loving being in the snow. But I am sure the practical aspects of being surrounded by Snow is starting to drag. Fingers crossed it clears for next week x

When the sky is blue and the sun is shining, the snow is pretty spectacular! But, I’d quite like to see sunshine and some green now :)

So much snow. Over here we are all hunting for signs of spring, I can sympathise with how you must be feeling. The kids seem to be loving the snow though!
