Taking advantage of a beautifully sunny Sunday afternoon, we headed to Breakheart Reservation with the boys bikes. The boys wanted to show me a loop around the reservation that I hadn’t fully walked before.
The first part of the walk is one I am very familiar with as it takes us to the beach where we swim during the summer. The boys led the way!
We made our way to the beach along paths covered in pine needles, with the sun streaming through the trees.
The boys were keen to keep going, but I took my time, taking in the view as we walked around the lake.
They urged me on as they wanted to show me a second lake, that in all honesty I hadn’t realised was there! They sped off, until we hit another hill, at which point a push from daddy was welcomed :)
Then we arrived at Silver Lake, another breathtakingly beautiful view. And, as we dropped the bikes so that we could explore, I managed to sneak this photo of the 8yo.
The kids soon found a huge rock and they spent ages climbing, jumping and sliding.
It was a beautiful afternoon; the sun was shining, the kids were in their element and we had a lovely, if somewhat (unexpectedly!) hilly, walk. I certainly got a good work out pushing the stroller, and in fact, I needed the odd push too!
I’m linking up with the wonderful Country Kids at Coombe Mill, as always. Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to and be inspired to get outside!

What a gorgeous walk. Those lakes look so beautiful and your children look like they are having a wonderful time exploring that rock. Lovely to be able to enjoy some autumn sunshine too :-)
We love Breakheart and the boys love their bikes. The rock was an added bonus :)

We are hoping to get out in the morning and enjoy the last of the Autumn sunshine!

Isn’t it amazing when you discover something new at a familiar location. It looks like an amazing walk and you’ve got some lovely pictures too Zx
Absolutely! We thought the lower swimming lake was amazing, to suddenly come across a second lake was amazing – I should really have looked at a map ages ago :)
I love a family bike ride, there is always something new to stop and see along the way. #magicmoments
It’s great fun!

It’s great – my youngest has a balance bike and when she’s a bit more confident it will be so much fun!
Looks a lovely place to walk and ride. Almost reminds me of Virginia Water in the UK, only more expansive
It really is beautiful, very peaceful, but always lots of people enjoying the walks and trails which is really nice x
