There is a point at which the snow gets too deep to build snowmen. You’d sink before you got the first roll in. So, what do you do?
Well, if you’re five, you start digging a snow cave instead!
And you keep digging…
Until you get a bit cold and tired. Then, you stand back and admire your work, ask mummy to take a photo, and come inside for hot chocolate.
After lunch, you bring in reinforcements…
Some helpers are more useful than others…
But she prefers to do her own thing anyway!
You keep digging long after the others have given up and gone inside…
And in the end, you have a snow cave to be proud of.

Oh Wow!! I am envious of your snow, but to be honest, if we had that much here, the whole of England would just stop. Love that he can fit inside the whole cave, now that is determination. Well done little man! #countrykids

Well, it’s barely been above freezing for weeks, so it just doesn’t melt! It is good fun for the kids though :)

I’m so jealous of the amount of snow you’ve got, it’s ridiculous, it makes the stuff we had for 3 hours look like rain. I bet you’re getting pretty tired of it now though! Oh wow, that is pretty amazing looking! I remember doing that as a kid. It was always so cool to tunnel in. just be careful of cave-ins.
Yes, the 8yo wanted to go further and dig tunnels I wouldn’t let him!
Three things I love about this post – 1st. his determination to keep going! 2. The amount of snow you have – that’s really impressive although I can imagine now how it must be starting to tire as it’s difficult to negotiate 3. the photographic evidence! So many photos detailing his efforts.

Wow! That’s a lot of snow. Luckily we get to experience snow here in Dubai via the snow park. I’m glad that’s just about what we have, I don’t think I will survive in winter. #LetKidsBeKids

Wow, we haven’t even had a smattering of snow here and my girls so want to be able to build a snowman, that snow cave looks fab and so much time and effort put into it too. #letkidsbekids
We’ve certainly had plenty of snow… I was impressed with the cave, the 5yo is very determined :)
Monkey would be in his element in that much snow. I’ve just shown Daddy P these photos, we just can’t comprehend that much snow or how long it takes to disappear! Sorry this is an overdue comment x
