And, we’re on vacation! Ten wonderful weeks of summer stretch ahead of us. I am SO looking forward to it: beach, pool, relaxation.
The past week has been good. We’ve been to the library, the pool, out for lunch, spent birthday vouchers, watched an amazing storm, enjoyed lots of sunshine. And, my eldest walked out of elementary school for the last time on Tuesday, and that was that. A chapter ended.

I took a moment to reflect on our time in the US when I published this photo:
E N D
And so we find ourselves on the last day of school. Mixed emotions today: very glad that vacation starts tomorrow, we’re all ready for the summer break, but my eldest walks out of the building for the last time…
When we moved to the US five years ago I never thought that we’d find ourselves so settled and at home here. We were welcomed into the school community on the first day of school and my son has had a wonderful five years and made lifelong friends (as have I).
As they all head off for the summer and then on to Middle School, I am so grateful for this amazing group of kids, and parents. And of course, the teachers who have helped and guided and encouraged.
But, we’re done. Teachers gifts have been delivered, desks cleared, a forest of paper brought home, plans made for beach days and pool trips, lazy days and summer camps.
Here’s to an amazing summer and to the next phase in our lives.
Starting our long summer break, I am truly grateful for all that we have. And, I plan to make the most of every minute.
Hope you’ve all had a lovely week. Head over to my Instagram feed to see the rest of this week’s 365 photos…

Have a lovely summer – I’m a bit envious of those 10 weeks as we have another month of school to slog through nearly. I love the money plant picture – they are such easy to look after houseplants.
have a lovely summer. Glad you feel so settled and so much at home.
The plant is a lovely idea, mug better than a mug or chocolates.
happy summer holidays, I hope you enjoy your time together before it’s back to school and onto a new chapter
10 weeks!!??!!!?? I so need that! ;) Hope you all have a great summer x
Oh Sara this got me all emotional. I’m so glad that you are all so settled and life is working out well for you all over there. Can’t believe your eldest is moving on at school, where has the time gone. Have a lovely summer with them all #365
