Today I am very pleased to have the wonderful (and super busy!) Jocelyn from The Reading Residence guest blogging for me.
I’d say that I’m a positive person, generally happy, not one to wallow or overly worry. But that doesn’t mean that I’m permanently like that, of course, is anyone? So when I have slumps, grumps and down days, I turn to a few tried and tested pick-me-up methods, so I thought I’d share my top 5 with you..
1. A happy song. Whether I’m driving along and blast it out for a good sing-along, or it’s a dance around the kitchen with the children, it’ll always lift me. Current favourite here is the ‘Caterpillar Conga’ – the kids go wild for it!
2. Flowers. I do love a bunch of flowers. I’m creating my own cut-flower patch out in the garden this year, so I’ll be able to have them in the house all through the summer, without having to go and buy them. I do like going out there and selecting and cutting them, too.
3. A little fresh air. Whether it be a trip to the park with the children, or just an amble about my back garden, it puts a smile on my face. I don’t know whether it’s the fresh air itself, or the change of scenery, but it works.
4. A laugh. So simple. Whether it be a chat with a friend, a funny show, a rom-com (I love them!), a browse of Pinterest, a good giggle is always good for you.
5. A cup of tea and a good book. I’m a reader and a book-worm, always have been, so this one helps me. Even if it’s just for 10 minutes, it’ll break my bad mood. I might even add a biscuit, too, on wild days…
What about you? What brightens your mood?
About Jocelyn:
Jocelyn is a mum of two, known as Boo and Little Man on her blog. She blogs about their adventures, tips and ideas. She has recently taken up knitting, baking and gardening and loves, among other things, ice cream, books, flowers, Converse trainers and pretty stationary. She also runs her own stationary and cards business.
I said she was super busy! Please do head over and have a read of her wonderful blog, if you haven’t already!
All this week, I’m hosting a linky of cheerfulness! You can read about the idea here. If you’d like to join in with any cheerful, happy, funny, silly, magical or inspirational posts to brighten up this rather miserable February, please do and I will share them to spread a little cheerfulness :)

Totally agree with all of them, but especially the fresh air!
Absolutely!
Lovely guest post. Very simple ideas, some of which I will use myself. Personally, though, nothing beats going for a long walk.
It is lovely, isn’t it – and I’m with you on a long walk :)
