I have managed to read four books this month and I have just started Book 13 – still no where near where I need to be to complete this challenge, but I’m sticking at it :)
Books 9 and 10
Divergent and Insurgent – Veronica Roth
Following a Twitter chat with Jess at Catch a Single Thought and Lorna at Mummy and her Boys last month, I was reminded how much I had enjoyed Divergent and as I had downloaded Insurgent, I decided that I would treat myself to a re-read of Divergent before I started the sequel. I thoroughly enjoyed it second time around and the follow up was just as good. Set in the future, our heroine Tris lives in a society of factions, where faction ties are more important than family. Until one faction tries to wipe out another… and all hell breaks loose. Family, friend, faction – who to trust? And just what does lie beyond the fence? I loved both of these books and cannot wait for the third to be released in October!
Book 11
Bones are Forever – Kathy Reichs
I am a fan of a good crime novel and although Kathy Reichs isn’t one of my absolute favourites, I do enjoy her books. Despite the subject matter being quite tough going at times (and this one featured murdered infants) her books are actually a fairly easy read with a light, and at times quite funny/dry, style. This one certainly kept up the pace, and as usual, the many (seemingly) unconnected threads came together neatly at the end. It didn’t hold as many surprises for me as some of her books have, but it was a diverting read.
Book 12
Soulcatcher (The Soulkeepers Series) – G.P. Ching
I read the first three books in this YA series back in February and had been keeping an eye out for the fourth. I wasn’t disappointed! The Soulkeepers are back, picking up where the third book left off, and continuing their fight against Lucifer and the Watchers. Another very light, easy and enjoyable read, nothing taxing here at all! In fact, I ended up reading the book in a day as I wanted to know what happened at the end :)
I have just started Agenda 21 by Glenn Beck, one of my random Kindle Daily Deals purchases. So far, pretty good – it was 10pm, I was really tired, but I just had to read ‘one more chapter…’! I think this will be another quick read :)
I will be linking up again with Julie over at Mama OWL in her 50 books challenge April round-up!
