This week saw my 6yo completing his first major school project! The title was ‘100 words for 100 days of school’. Wednesday saw the kids hit the 100th day of the school year – only 80 to go!
He had to pick a topic that he could read 100 words about and then write those words out to present to his class. He chose to do it on Scotland.
My husband and I had a lot of fun helping him with this; especially encouraging a section on inventions – nice to remind people how many things were invented/discovered by the Scots – TV, telephone, penicillin, tyres etc.
We also took some pleasure in seeing words like tyre and grey spelt ‘correctly’…!
The boy did a fantastic job writing out all the words, at the last count there were actually 103. He chose some great pictures (had a little help with the cutting out…!) and stuck them on really well.
It looked great and I was really proud of him on Wednesday morning as he headed off to school to show it to his classmates.

Awesome project! You guys did a great job, and it’s wonderful that it was done as a family! This will be something you guys will fondly remember!
Thanks, it was good fun, and great how much my son enjoyed it :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
