This week saw us return to the park at my oldest son’s school. When the weather is nice, everyone pops in to the park for a while on the way home. The kids get to play, and the adults get to chat; or at least I did last year when I could keep the wee girl confined to the buggy!
We have managed to spend quite a lot of time outside this week, enjoying the walk to and from school and playing in the garden when we get home. It has been wonderful to leave the house without a jacket.
Heading back to the park in the afternoons marks a real shift in the weather though. And it’s great! It’s not that long since the park was still covered in snow; now it’s warm enough to enjoy playing again.
Our first trip was on Wednesday, and all three kids had a great time rediscovering the park.
It was much warmer today, not even cardigans required! The boys ran around with their friends while the wee girl collected bark… And tried to climb things that are far too big for her (at least I think they are!) and was quite successful… Heart in mouth moments for mummy, although I did stop to take a photo :)
Once the 5yo collapsed in a hot little heap, it was time to go home!
I’m linking up with the wonderful Country Kids at Coombe Mill again this week. Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to and be inspired to get outside!

Running shoes on. A true blogger. Take the photos and then catch the falling daughter…. or pick them up from the floor. #CountryKids
Exactly! Can’t miss the photo op :)
It’s amazing how quickly you’ve gone from all of that snow out there to going to the park without jackets! Looks lots of fun and the wee girl is looking so much more grown up all of a sudden! X
It’s literally been in the space of a week! It was fun, and I think the wee girl has decided she’s five… :)
It looks like they had an amazing time
Thank you, they loved it!
I love the photos where they are together in the swing =) So much sibling love! #countrykids
Thank you, I love those ones too, they really do adore each other x
Why do the littlest ones always want to go on the biggest playground things? I think they do it just to scare Mummy! Love the photos x
I think they do! Thank you :)
Amazing the effect of warmer weather! That park looks lovely
It really is, isn’t it?!
Great you are finally getting some lovely warm weather. What a cute little explorer and climber you have there.
That she is! Even if she scares me half to death most of the time :)
Hooray for sunshine and seeing the back of all that snow you had! What fun they all had and bless your little girl with her gorgeous curls and confidence for attempting the climbs. Thanks for linking up and sharing your fun with Country Kids.
Hear hear! They were so pleased to be able to play with their friends after school :) And, I can’t take my eyes off the wee girl for a second!
Yay for you guys! Looks like the snow is finally gone! :) We’ve had lovely sunshine too the past few days, though we woke up to the usual dreary grey morning. But as I’m writing this, the sun is finally peeping out. That’s our cue to walk the dog :) #CountryKids.
It makes such a difference having some sunshine! And, it’s been warm which is an added bonus :)
That looks a fab park! So much fun!
Lovely photos x
The kids love it, and its just nice that it’s warm enough now :)
Wow looks like so much fun! Lovely to have warm weather again, seems such a quick turnaround after the snow lasting so long over there! You must be loving being able to get out and about more! Great photos, the kids clearly loved it :) xx #countrykids
It’s been amazingly fast! In the space of a week we’ve gone from freezing to almost 70F!
Ooh, warmth. You must be thrilled! That path looks great and what a lovely way to enjoy the end of a school say too :)
Indeed! What a difference it’s made to our days!
You can see Wee girl is having a ball running around and climbing everything in the park (while giving you minor heart attacks). It must be a whole new experience for her this year as she’s so much bigger and fun for her to join her brothers there too.
It absolutely is, for me too! She is so much taller and able to climb now :)
We have been back in the park this week too, I love it!
Isn’t it great! They are so much less grumpy in the evenings :)
Ahhh they look like they are having so much fun together. Glad the sun has come out for you and let you have a great time at the park. So fun
Thank you, I’m very glad to see the sun too :)
How wonderful to see the sun again after all that snow! Looks like they were very glad indeed x
We’re all very glad :)
The park looks great, and good for all ages which can be difficult sometimes. We’re getting better weather here, it makes so much difference in going outside.
It is so nice to have better weather at last!
The snow has gone – they look like they are loving the park!
Would you believe it snowed yesterday! But, the end is in sight and the kids are so pleased to be getting back to the park on a regular basis :)
