We acquired an old play structure with our house. It sat just outside the back door. The kids loved the swings but the wooden structure was rotten and unsafe. So, last week my husband pulled it down. It hung on for awhile, resisting his efforts, reluctant to be toppled. But toppled it was and now not a trace remains; other than the (horror movie) bells that hung from it, and now hang in a nearby tree. It somehow seemed appropriate that they stay. The kids are excited about the new play set, which arrives next week :)

Aww, it looks so sad all broken and leaning there. It has probably served it’s purpose with the previous family though and had many a happy child playing on it. Looks great in black and white too. #bwphotoproject

Great photo – it invokes a sense of something cinematic – like King Kong has escaped or Nero”s sedan chair after the fall of Rome. Beautiful use of light through the trees as well.

It does look rather like something from a horror film actually-not sure why, but maybe because it looks like it’s falling and collapsing into the ground.

I like that it’s having a last stand (or at least a topple!) wood and black and white is always good.
It certainly took a bit of persuasion to get it down!

Oh taking that shot in black & white gives it an eerie kinda feel – I always think that about collapsing playthings anyway haha! You have a good eye for spotting unusual subjects & really like your B&W project of work.
