When my daughter first uttered the words ah la loo (I love you) to my husband she was about 18 months old, and we melted.
We have melted with each new version, and there have been several!
From ah la loo we moved on to lu loo which then became lu loo los (love you lots).
She then began to simply say lots lots. And this was how it remained for months. We loved it, and adopted it ourselves :)
As she learnt more words, and those words became clearer, she began to say I love you.
Not quite so cute, but heart warming none the less.
Then it morphed again…
In response to I love you, we always say I love you too.
She has taken to answering this with I love you one…
And, we’re back to the heart meltingly cute!

Aww “I love one” is so so cute! Love hearing what comes out when they try and copy words too. My lo is 18 months and on valentines day she copied us saying “I love you” and it sounds like “I loaf du”.
It is so lovely hearing them start to copy phrases like that :)

Aww “I love you one” is just adorable! Hearing the words “I love you” from your child is wonderful however they are said but your wee girl has definitely come out with some heart-melting versions. Thank you for sharing with #ftmob :-)

Awww, how cute. For a brief while Phillip wore glasses (he doesn’t need them anymore since going off gluten, isn’t that weird?) and our toddler at the times called them “glassies.” Years later if someone is looking for their sunglasses, they’ll still say, “Where are my glassies?”
Love that, glassies! We have a few toddler expressions that have stuck too :)
