Last weekend we headed north into New Hampshire to go to Storyland (a fabulous theme park aimed at children, post to follow!). We spent a couple of wonderful days up there, and managed to tick another thing off our summer bucket list by playing mini golf!
A couple of years ago we went to the Pirates Cove mini golf in North Conway, so this time we decided to try out Banana Village (also in North Conway) instead.
One of the reasons we chose Banana Village is that there is some shade! It was really hot, so although half the course was fairly exposed, there were lots of areas with lovely dappled shade.
The design and landscaping were really pretty, and although next to a busy road, we weren’t aware of that at all.
The last time we played mini golf together the wee girl was too small to join in. This time though, she had a great time! Starting with a little help from daddy…
…she was soon managing very well by herself.
And, I just loved the look of concentration :)
The boys had a great time (not quite) perfecting their putting skills, but as we weren’t keeping score, it was all about the fun…
…and avoiding (or not) the water features!
We don’t play mini golf often, but it is such fun when we do (once I learn to ignore the people behind us, hovering, while we try to finish a hole!). The added bonus of Granny joining us this time made for an extra special outing and it was wonderful to watch her play alongside the children. They loved it!
Everything is more fun with Granny :)
We finished the 18 holes hot but happy, and I almost got a photo of all the kids smiling!

What a lovely place to play mini golf the course looks so interesting and varied with plenty of shade. We are hoping to create a few holes here so I shall be pinning this post for Nick to have a look at. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.

I think I’d need to learn how to ignore the hovering people too but it does look lots of fun :)

That looks like an amazing mini golf course – neat structures and so much shade! I love your “almost kids smiling” photo. I just got home from a trip with 5 boys (4yr – 13yr) and getting them to all look at the camera at the same time was a trial with or without smiles.
I do count it as a win if they are at least looking at the camera :)

It was good fun, we try and play every so often, and certainly when we head up to New Hampshire for the weekend :)
Looks like a lot of fun, and great that the wee one is big enough now to get fun out of playing by herself. I agree keeping scores is not needed.

Even with the shade we were pretty hot :) And, not keeping score is the way to go with the kids!
