This month has been another busy one. It included two business trips for my husband, which are always tough on the kids (and a bit tiring for me!). And, two sick kids during the second trip made for a rather trying time all round.
The weather hasn’t helped, snow at the start of the month, lots of rain since and downright wintery temperatures. We are all in need of some sunshine and warmth!
We had a wonderful trip to New York over April vacation though. A much needed family break. The kids had a blast, and so did we. Our family is growing up and a city break is once again something that we can enjoy. In fact, the added dimension of watching the kids get excited about seeing places that they had read about or seen on TV was a real bonus. We’ll be doing it again!
This month we have loved:
Vacation. A week off, having fun, could not have come soon enough. We all needed a break from routine and it was wonderful to spend quality time together.
Sightseeing. Visiting New York with the kids was a bit of a gamble, but it paid off and we had an amazing time exploring the city.
Sunshine. After a month that saw snow and a lot of rain, we have all enjoyed seeing blue skies and ditching the jackets. Not often enough yet, but we are now hopeful!
All in all, it’s been a good month. And, we managed to take this months photos outside! Roll on summer :)

I love New York – Its my favourite place in the world. I really want to go again but I fear little J is too young (he’s only 3) I’m thinking it might be best to wait a few years
I love NYC too :) Our daughter is four, and she kept up really well, but it was definitely the boys that got the most out it (they are seven and almost ten) x
