Welcome to Sunday Showcase, where I highlight one of my favourite blogs, recommend a few of the posts I enjoyed reading this week and capture a moment that made me smile.
Last weekend was a busy one, including a dance recital, birthday party and a soccer match! Sunday Showcase was drafted, but didn’t make it to published. So, this weeks favourite posts are from the last couple of weeks!
A blog I love…
Tim writes over at Slouching Towards Thatcham, a blog that always has me smiling and nodding in agreement. Whether writing about his children (like me, he has two boys and a girl, and his daughter is just a couple of months younger than my little girl), blogging or life in general, his posts always resonate.
Tim is a wonderful writer and I love reading his thoughts on parenting and kids, and the love and pride he has for his children is so very evident in everything he posts. He regularly writes musical parodies which, in addition to being very clever, are funny and entertaining. And, he is a founding member of the Meet the Parents podcast too. I don’t know where he finds the time!
If you haven’t read Tim’s blog yet then his recent post on the loneliness of being away on business (which described exactly how I felt when I travelled for work) is a good place to start. His recent spoof parenting adverts are good for a chuckle and if podcasts are your thing, here is the latest installment from Meet the Parents. And, if you’re looking for blogging tips, Tim has a very useful series of posts that are worth checking out too!
A post I loved…
My relationship with social media has always been love-hate, but has recently been more to the hate end of the spectrum. A little distance is needed, so this wonderful post from Maddy over at Writing Bubble on her week without social media and blogging really struck a chord.
Along with trying to get a handle on the time-suck that is Facebook, I am also trying to be more productive all round, and this post from Mel over at Le Coin de Mel with her tips for using time wisely was a great read.
And, another post that really resonated was this very wise and insightful read, on her truth about blogging, from Jennifer over at The Deliberate Mom.

A moment I loved…
It has to be my daughters dance recital; hands down the best moment in the last couple of weeks, perhaps even this year. She loved every minute, and I was so proud watching her on stage; not phased in the slightest and putting on a wonderful show! She is so confident and funny, and was so excited about performing.
She is my little star, and I just hope that nothing knocks that amazing confidence and enthusiasm out of her. Ever.
