Today is the first birthday of an Angel, Matilda Mae – Star of the Sea, star in the sky.
Today should be about cake and presents; purple and pink; laughter and stars; giggles and memories.
Today should not be a day of unimaginable heartbreak and sadness.
Today we wish that things were so very different.
But,
Today is a day of overwhelming, all encompassing love.
Today is a day of inspirational strength and grace.
Today we send love and support.
Today is an ending and a beginning.
Today a beautiful boat will sail, taking with it hopes and dreams. This should not be so, but,
Today a beautiful boat will sail, leaving behind, I hope, some peace of mind.
Today we will blow bubbles to the sky for Matilda Mae.
Today we will light a candle and whisper ‘Happy Birthday little star’.
Today we will wear purple and pink; eat star biscuits; say a prayer.
Today we will remember an infectious smile and chocolate eyes.
Today we will pay tribute to a beautiful daughter and sister.
Today we will get messy, pink and purple and full of stars.
Today, in our virtual world, we will provide a shoulder to lean on, a hand to hold. We will wipe our tears and we will stand strong, we will stand together.
Then,
Tomorrow is unknown, a blank canvas to be filled.
Tomorrow we will play, messily!
Tomorrow we will stay, we will listen, we will support, we will care, we will remember.
Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow.

We are going to make star biscuits this weekend xx It has been a week today since we set Tilda sail and I miss her enormously. This post has made me cry for my beautiful daughter. I just want to hold her in my arms and nothing else matters compared to that x Thank you for taking the time to think of us and wish Tilda a happy birthday in the sky x
