Country Kids: splashing!

It’s been a funny week. The weather has been a bit hit or miss, so we stuck close to home.

We’ve been busy. With soccer, the library, a birthday party, errands, baking and our summer journals.

The week has flown by.

We haven’t had an ‘outing’ since our trip to the beach last week.

We’ve played with bubbles; we’ve run and chased and tagged; we’ve played; we’ve had dinner on the porch and eaten ice pops; we’ve splashed in puddles; we’ve watched the world go by; we’ve touched a truck!

When I looked back on my photos of the week though, this was my favourite activity. Water play.

Fun, splashy, giggly and very wet!

Once she makes a run for the drive, play time is over!

It’s been a week of simple activities. Simple pleasures.

The kids can make an adventure of whatever we do, wherever we are.

And that’s what it’s all about.

I am linking up with the wonderful Coombe Mill’s Country Kids again this week. I love this linky! Click on the badge to see what everyone else has been up to!

  1. I agree. Water play is the best fun and if you can stay close to home it eliminates so many other stresses

  2. Hasn’t it been great not to have to venture further than your own back garden. The children look like they have had a great time with water and bubble play and dining outdoors. Thank you for linking up and your kind words about Country Kids Sara.

  3. We’ve been enjoying our garden too in the gorgeous weather we’ve been having here. It’s so funny how similar children can be (yet so different) my youngest ALWAYS drinks the water and got very cold after my oldest drenched him in water too. Looks like you’ve had lots of fun :)

  4. I don’t know touching a truck ranks pretty high for us here :) Some really lovely photos. When you make a list of what you did it really turns out to be quite a lot in the end. Her face is so full of delight during the water play it’s so cute!

  5. Gorgeous pictures Sara, your wee lady always makes me smile, she is a real character with such a glint in her eye, she’s going to run rings round her big brothers when she’s older ha. Simple fun like this is very often the best time x

    1. Thank you! Character is one way to describe her – little madam would be another! She will definitely run rings around her brothers – over the last few days she has started chasing them… Today it was with a toy sword in hand!

  6. those bubbles are big and clear.and isn’t it funny how much a random thing like touching a truck can be such fun!
i love those water play photos. I adore the look of excitement on your daughter’s face and how much fun she is having. xx

  7. I have exactly the same problem! Why do they always drink the water!! It is great fun though and we would have be very excited by your truck too x

  8. Looks like such a good week. Bubbles – that’s a great idea as my son can’t get his head wet for a few days (hurt his head and the glue is drying). We used to have that water table – it’s great isn’t it.
