I thought the summer holidays were going to be so long!
When I had ten weeks stretching ahead of me I had a small panic…
Now, the holidays are all but over. The 7yo went back to school yesterday and the 4yo starts again next Tuesday.
The holidays have gone too fast! I’ve enjoyed them far more than I ever thought I would.
We have had so much fun!
Although, being completely honest, part of me is quite glad that we’re getting back into our, slightly calmer, daily routine of school runs and activities – structure makes me happy :)
The 7yo was a little nervous about going back. Not helped by the practice of mixing the classes up each year. No consistent class all through school here, every year it’s a slightly different grouping.
I remember always being a little scared on the first day of term after the holidays. The summer is a long time. We’ve been away for most of August, so haven’t seen anyone for almost a month.
For the 7yo it was: who will be in my class, what will my new teacher be like, will any of my friends be in my class, will they still be my friends…?
Of course, as soon as we arrived at school, all was well! He found his friends and he was off :)
Two of his best friends are in his class. His new teacher is nice. He didn’t have any homework last night! He has a play date this afternoon :)
My little boy isn’t really a little boy anymore… He looks so grown up! Into Second Grade (Primary 3) already.
Can I press pause, please?
