Slide!

I have to be honest – I’ve never been very good at going to the park with the kids. Not when they were little and unsteady and clumsy.

You will hear me cry: Be careful…! Watch out…! Get down…! Don’t climb up there…! Stop!!

Conversely, their dad can be heard to cry: Excellent climbing! Good work! Again?

So, I have to admit that I was absent for this particular first. Which is probably just as well, or there wouldn’t have been a first to write about :)

The wee girl went down the slide – all by herself. No guiding hands, no hovering mother. Although, I’m sure my husband wasn’t too far away… and was paying complete attention while taking photos..!

I am, of course, very glad that he did take photos, because I got to see our brave, I can do anything my brothers can do, girl going down the slide with a big grin on her face :) The 4yo just had to ‘help’ her get the hang of it too!

Every week she becomes more capable, more coordinated. She is fearless!

Someone asked me this week if she was two (she’s 19 months)…

No, I replied – she just thinks she is :)

Lovely photos! I’m more of a hoverer than the husband, so can relate! Little Man adores slides, though at just 14 months, I’m still holding on to him!

  2. I’m like you in the park, even now, I even want to get a climbing frame in the garden so I can feel like I can control this play a bit more. She really looks like she enjoyed her first time on the slide, I bet it will be a firm favourite now.

Thanks for linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements :0)
