I can’t quite believe that it’s less than two weeks to Christmas!
We are preparing ourselves for the festivities, slowly! My energy and efficiency levels seem to have dipped and I feel as sleepy as our garden now is. The arrival of snow at the weekend, with more on the way, has had the effect of dulling my senses, much as it dulls the colours and sounds in the garden.
The only colour remaining comes from the red berries on trees and shrubs.
The children are happy to see the snow. It brings a whole new dimension to our garden. The wee girl has learnt a new word and happily points and tells everyone that this funny white stuff is sssnow :)
Me? I like to look at snow. I do not like to be in snow! But, it does make me feel that Christmas is on the way.
It may not be very deep yet, but having already experienced my first New England winter, I know that three feet of snow can fall in a single day! Watch this space…

Oh my goodness – snow everywhere and more on the way, I’m sure! Nice for the wee girl to experience and enjoy – bless her. I’m like you in that I like it initially, but hate driving in it and having to get somewhere. Those berries are lovely and colourful, too, very Christmassy over there x
Yes, lots more snow now :) And I’m remembering how much I dislike having to go out in it…:)
Oh brilliant the snow has arrived! Always great when its all fresh and you can look at it though the window. Not as it wonderful if you need to go anywhere! I bet the kids are super excited :)

yay for snow!!! i cannot wait to be in colder weather. it has been in the 80’s here and not only does it make it impossible to get into the holiday spirit but it also makes me feel very sluggish

I can’t believe how fast time is flying! It was just the other week we were looking at your lovely Autumn colours! Quite jealous. I love snow. The other week we went into town for the light switch on and through the foggy windows I thought I could see snow. I announced this to the whole bus while trying not to shove everyone out of the way so that I could get out and play. Alas, it was merely a snow machine. It was still pretty, but I was a bit embarrassed at my overreaction. Glad the kids are enjoying it!
Oh, your comment made me smile – I’ve fallen for the snow machines myself :) We had a long autumn that very suddenly changed to winter! We now have almost a foot of snow…
