After three days of solid rain, we had to get outside! Thankfully the rain held off today, so we went on a hunt for flowers.
There aren’t many left in the garden now, but we found the odd splash of colour to pop in our tub, with the intention of doing a craft tomorrow.
The wee girl led the way into our wilderness garden…
Where shall we start, mummy?

Ooo, more pink ones, I want one!

Blue ones, mummy, look!
After a lovely half an hour exploring the garden, looking at berries, admiring the changing leaves and picking flowers, it was time to take our collection back inside.
With our wellies on, we didn’t mind the wet, swishy grass. We stomped through puddles and mud, found our way around bushes and jumped over branches and rocks.
Frankly, it was just lovely to get outside for a bit! We have been spoilt by our long, hot Summer. A few wet, Fall days, and we are all itching to get back outside. And, really, some soggy (albeit rather long!) grass really shouldn’t stop us :)

Ah, just look at her enthusiasm collecting away there. We were doing the same this afternoon making fairy food to take to the fairy gardens, it will probably be my post next week, such fun collecting all the different colours. Beautiful flowers, I love this time of year with the different coloours of leaves and being able to stomp through crunchy woods and forests.

It is pretty huge, and very wild! I’m not really quite sure what to do with it! But it’s fabulous for the kids :) The wee girl isn’t so wee any more!

I love her genuine curiosity in the ordinary objects in her garden, the wonder of toddlers is such a magical thing to witness.
