This month has been all about a little girl waiting for her brothers to get home from school.
Mornings have involved pinky promises. From an 8yo to his little sister, promising to play with her later.
Goodbyes have been accompanied by hugs and kisses. If the wee girl doesn’t get huggies and kissies from her brothers before they leave for school, I will be left to deal with a completely hysterical little girl.
The last few weeks has also seen a shift in how they play together. Every afternoon they will disappear and play elaborate games; pirates or superheroes or camping.
The old Thomas tent is having a renaissance, and they fill it with every soft toy they own before all squeezing in. Occasionally they eat marshmallows; proper camping snacks!
If not the Thomas tent, then they will be hiding under comforters, all bundled up on the boys bottom bunk; giggling.
This is the month that the wee girl turns three. She is catching up with her brothers, better able to understand the games and play along. More interested in chatting with them. More than capable of giving as good as she gets…
As the boys left for school this morning, the ritual was repeated. Pinky promise followed by hugs and kisses.
These three may drive me mad, but watching them hug, well, it really doesn’t get better than that.
Oh Sara that sounds adorable and honestly the description of them squeezing in the Thomas tent together with all their toys, eating marshmallows, made my heart melt a little! Must be lovely now she is growing up a little and can really join in with their games :) xx

I love how you capture the 5yo and the wee girl smiling at their big bro as well as the big bro with his arm around the two of them. Now that the wee girl is getting older you can really see how they’re becoming united. The black and white photo is fabulous.

So lovely! It is so nice when they play so well together isn’t it. My two are really playing well together for the most part and it’s great. We have the same hug/kiss situation before E can go to school too!!

Gorgeous photo’s that sums up their relationship. I think it’s lovely when they start to play together isn’t it-I watched my eldest hold her brother’s hand and run with him into nursery this morning. Really lovely, especially as I knew she really didn’t want to go into school (her door is next to the nursery.)

It’s great fun at the moment, when they’re not fighting and I’m not grumpy! Can’t wait for warmer weather so that they can play in the garden together :)
