It’s in the offer of time on a busy day
and the touch of a hand in support.
It’s in the small smile to acknowledge presence
and the moment taken to remember what is forgotten.
It’s in the sunshine that lights the darkness of duplicity
and the warm rain that washes clean the dust of misuse.
It’s in the granting of forgiveness for neglect
and the awarding of respect for principle.
It’s in the losing of yourself to affection
and the abandoning of regret.

Love your poignant poem on the art of giving and the many forms it can take. So beautiful x
Thank you very much Izzie x
What a beautiful poem Sara – I love the focus on all the little forms of giving that don’t involve material things and are all the more precious for it. I particularly love the lines “It’s in the sunshine that lights the darkness of duplicity
and the warm rain that washes clean the dust of misuse” – what a beautiful way of expressing it.
Thank you very much Louise x
