The Prompt: In between

The Prompt 114: In between

There’s a secret in a corner
in a place that’s in between,
where we wonder at the silence
of a moment that begins
in the midst of recklessness.

Full of fear and doubt
at the illusion of a peace,
that is nebulous as mist
in the tendrils of a dream,
we lose ourselves to turmoil.

The relief of a smile
brings release from indecision
even as confusion rocks desire,
uncertainty becomes understanding
and leads to acceptance.

There’s a secret in a corner
in a place that’s in between,
where we escape from what is done
leaving reason to its fate
and imagine what can be.

  1. This is lovely, I had to read it a couple of times and I like the fact it is so mysterious. It allows me to think as the reader. I really do love the flow of the lines ‘There’s a secret in a corner, In a place that’s in between’, I like the beat of these words x #Prose4T

Thank you, it was one that seemed to write itself and I think it’s reflective of a corner in me that feels unsure. Maybe!
